Anchor chain

Rob, my good neighbour has agreed to check and update the links on my anchor set up.
First, he flipped the chain end for end and added a new shackle to the anchor.
Next, he replaced a rusty shackle with a lovely three strand rope in the anchor locker. This rope is tied to a shackle in the anchor locker and prevents the chain from running out completely,  yet if necessary in an emergency, can be cut off and left behind with a marker buoy to pick up later.
And finally, Rob cut off a rusty link and chain connector  then joined the two lengths of chain together again with a new link.
The old link was still solid steel inside, but better safe than sorry.
So now, I can anchor again secure in the knowledge that my trusty anchor is going to hold Eidos in place. Thank you  Rob!
