Safe travels, Roane!

Roane, instead of taking the bus to Athens, found a ride with Paskal who needed crew on his sailboat.

They should arrive in Zeus Marina in the early afternoon.

Not much wind today, so motoring.

Calm seas.

They caught up with a French training vessel, Belem, that will carry the Olympic flame from Piraeus to Marseille.

Roane spent her last afternoon in Greece exploring Athens.

Meanwhile, I moved Eidos to a mooring in Navy Bay. Another busy day in paradise.

New helper

Roane arrived last night and this morning, I put her to work cleaning Eidos. She helps me for two hours a day in exchange for a bed on board Eidos (and a possibility of sailing).

Later on  we walked into the village and took the water taxi to Poros Island. 

Roane has some more work to do coding websites, while I drink coffee made in a real coffee machine!

After work, we climbed up to the clock tower for a view.

Then lunch at a cheap souvlaki place and a ferry ride back to Galatas.

However, Roane still didn't have enough excitement, so decided to walk on water to the next Island. Luckily it was low tide at new moon.

Laerke arrived

My new helper arrived on the fast ferry yesterday. Laerke is from Denmark. Welcome to Poros, Laerke.

She helped me clean inside Eidos and made a lovely salad for lunch. The wind has eased a bit, so we were able to eat in the cockpit.

Welcome Alise

Alise from Latwia is my new helper. Here she is busy cutting up an old sheet into rags. More difficult work ahead, Alise!

Afternoon off, Alise is heading to town and for a walk.

Finally, it's time to sail to Poros Island. Good to have an experienced crew!

Welcome Brenna!

Another helper arrived from Workaway and soon I had her helping me drill holes in my deck, filling them with a messy caulking and replacing the screws.

Here are all the tools that did not help seal the holes in my deck. The tek plugs did not fit in the holes. I need a bigger drill bit.

Next: cleaning the dinghy. 

We also had front row seats for a triathlon.

 Brenna is getting the deck ready for the sealant and new plugs.

Hello Estera!

The same day that Evelien left, Estera arrived and soon I put her to work.

Stripping varnish from ladder.

Cleaning dusty salon cushions.

And of course cooling off after a hard day's work.

 Watching the sunrise while waiting for a bus to Nafplion. Estera counted nearly 1,000 steps to the Nafplion castle! And then of course there were 1,000 steps down as well. 

On Estera's last evening here, we went to hear some live jazz.

Hello Evelien

My new helper from Holland arrived yesterday. 

The work never ends! Sanding.

 I cleaned this pan.

Time for a rest.

But we were rewarded by some beautiful sunrises.

And then we had a week of unsettled weather with thunderstorms and rain. During her days off , Evelien took the bus to Nafplion and rented a scooter for a day. She had several adventures while there and a week after arriving, left to continue her travels. Enjoy your travels, Evelien!
