Day 5. More restrictions in Greece due to the Covid-19 virus.

From www.greekreporter.com
As of this morning, Greece bans gatherings of 10 people or more, as well as "movement outside of the home must be limited to the absolute minimum and only for vital needs." There is a fine of 1,000 Euros for people who violate the new measures. There are now 418 cases and five deaths in Greece. That's nearly double the cases in five days.
Since exercise keeps us healthy and fit, as well as improving our immunity, it is still allowed.  I just finished the C25K (couch to 5 km.) running for beginners program and downloaded the C2 10 km. app to my phone. I run alone and don't have contact with people on my route, so the chance of catching the virus is probably very small.
The manager of the marina confirmed that we are allowed to go out for exercise and so I went for my run all the way to the beach at the northern entrance to the canal. There and back 5 km.

The Lefkas causeway.

North entrance holding area before the swinging bridge.

Charter boats ready for clients on Lefkas town quay.

My route this morning as recorded on Strava app.
From Sunday, March 22, there will be no more passenger flights in or out of Greece. All hotels will close on Monday and the ports are closed to incoming yachts from today to April 19. You may leave, but unless you're planning to sail non-stop to Africa or across the Atlantic, there is nowhere to go as most other European ports are also closed. I guess I'll have more time to get work done.
