Finally, sailing to Paxoi Island

We left Parga as soon as the tripper boats and the speed boats and the boats pulling plastic inner tubes and giant yellow plastic bananas started criss-crossing the bay even though there was only a bit of wind. Whew!

Monastery at the entrance to Parga bay.
Riemer preparing for a dive.
Finally, heading in the right direction and with the wind in our favour.
Ferry crossing our path - we altered course, just in case.
Calm anchorage - just in time.
On the way to Paxoi, the wind picked up at three in the afternoon and increased to 20 knots in a very short time. The sea was covered with white caps and more than a meter high waves that must have come all the way from Italy. We didn't reef in time, so had a wild ride with me worrying about the rigging the whole time until we reached the southern anchorage which sheltered us from the wind. We then doused the sails and entered Gaios harbour through the south entrance where the sea was perfectly calm. After some more work tying stern lines to shore, we were finally able to relax.
