Sailing to Ligia

Soon, we had our sails back from Way Point in Lefkas. The drifter had some holes that needed repairing and the Genoa had the sun damage cut off and was made into a jib. Much better than having to buy a whole new sail. Thank you, Nick and Way Point sailmakers. And so, off we went back through the Lefkas canal north towards Paxoi Island as our next destination.

The repaired Genny that WayPoint sailmakers made into a jib looks like a whole new sail.

At first, there was no wind, so Riemer decided to go for a swim in the middle of the Ionian sea. Watch out for sharks, Riemer!

And while he was in the water, he decided to scrape off the barnacles off the propeller.
Finally about one in the afternoon, we had some wind, but of course, it was on the nose, so we had to tack for several hours and finally at 6 p.m. decided to stop for the night in Ligia, a small harbour on the mainlad.
The entrance was quite tricky with rocks on both sides of the narrow opening. With Riemer on the bow spotting, I let out a big sigh of relief when we were finally tied to the quay. The owners of a trimaran saw us coming in and let us take their spot so that they could raft up to Eidos. Thanks, guys!
