Alone again.

I decided to have some alone time and not host any helpers for a while. It takes a bit of time to get used to this again after hosting three helpers one after another. But I have neighbors on boats next to me and I can get off the boat at any time. So now I can wake up at 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. and not worry about disturbing someone else sleeping. I love early mornings. I must insist on this one priority when hosting again. They say that we are most like ourselves when we are alone. Perhaps people who enjoy being alone like themselves more than people who don't enjoy solitude.
The other thing I should remember, is that people tire me out. I am an introvert and get energy from being alone.
So I varnished the cockpit, I'm playing the piano, and I finished my watercolor so now it only needs a frame. I prefer to work on boat maintenance first thing in the morning when it is still cool, so that I am done by 8am and have the rest of the day free. Most jobs, such as sanding and varnishing can be split into one hour segments.

Sunday

I love early mornings and wish that more of my helpers did as well. I was up at 5:00, made some shrimp sauteed in bacon and onions for breakfast and then from 7:00 to 8:00 varnished the cockpit. It is still cool and nice, and my work for the day is done. Yet, this is when most of my helpers only wake up. On the other hand if I decide to wake them up early because that was the agreement, they are too groggy and tired to do anything useful. Too bad. I will spend some time on my own, on my schedule, doing things according to my rhythm. At 9:00 a.m. a man came from the laundry and brought my load all washed and dried. Somehow there was a confusion because I called my favorite laundry and this man came from the competition and picked it up. So of course it wasn't done the way I wanted it, which is wash only and don't use any scented products. It was washed and dried and they used something scented. Plus it was more expensive than the usual 6 euros.
I went for a walk after that to search out a permanent place for Eidos, but they were either unavailable or required anchoring whereas I prefer lazy lines for long-term moorage. So it seems that I'm at the best possible place for the north winds that are predicted later this week.
On the way back, I stopped at the bakery and got myself a sweet to go with my expresso coffee back on board.
