After a tiring journey, this morning, I ventured out to meet Jennie, who is planning to help me on board in June. We had a great conversation over coffee and will keep in touch before her visit. On the way back to my hostel for a nap, I stopped to listen to some street musicians. Greek music stirrs my soul. It must be the Greek blood in me.
My cubicle at the Mosaicon hostel is like a nest to me: safe, quiet, comfortable. I slept like a log for an hour and woke up refreshed.
Down a couple of blocks, in a busy restaurant area, is where I had a kalamaki chicken skewer for lunch. And then a walk to the Monastiraki Square to meet Bennett, my next helper on board Eidos. We chatted over drinks and will be meeting tomorrow at the ferry for the trip to Poros.
In the evening, after another nap and a snack of fresh cherries bought from a street vendor, I attended a musical evening at the Olympia Musical Theatre. I stayed for the hour-long first act and then went home. Unfortunately, I found it boring. The orchestra played too loud and the soloists could not be heard. It was in French. It was not an opera, which would have given the audience something to look at, but only a a choir, the orchestra and the soloists. I think my attention span is only about an hour. Oh well, I enjoyed my walk back.
