Sewing and cleaning

Job finished.
Depth sounder cover.
Another lovely day, so I decided to do some hand sewing. I found scraps of fabric and made a cover for the binnacle compass, another one for the depth sounder, and from an old blanket, one for the cockpit seat.

And with an old pair of stretch tights, I made covers for a couple of fenders. If the shops had been open, I would have probably bought all the fabric, but because they were closed, creativity took over. Refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle.

One of the most difficult jobs onboard is cleaning the icebox which I use for storage of cans, bottles, full and empty. It is very deep and I can't reach the bottom where all the crud falls and rots attracting creepy crawlies.

Icebox racks drying.
First, I took out all the containers, then the racks which I cleaned and left outside on the deck to dry. And finally, with the help of a long-handled brush, I cleaned the icebox itself.
Very deep ice box.
