Launched!

After two weeks of hard work, (and yes, she had time for fun too) Noa finished installing the new hoses for the holding tank and the toilet. I had already taken out the old ones last fall but because I had hurt my back in March, was not able to do much this spring. Noa did a great job.

So far, no leaks but it seems like there is at least a mile of them.

The last job necessary before launching was to anti-foul the hull, which Noa did and then dinner at Panos Taverna. Mussels marinated in ouzo and moussaka for Noa. Yummm!

Finally, next day, Eidos was picked up on a trailer and launched. We celebrated by going out to Panos for dinner. Again. Well, why not - we deserved it.

However, when Stratos the engine mechanic came a couple of days later, he found that although the engine purred, the mounting bolts that keep it attached to the boat have rusted badly with one of them actually having sheared off.
So, now Eidos is tied to the dock waiting for new bolts and will need to have the engine lifted to trade the old ones for new ones. Sounds like a big, expensive job. Back to eating rice and beans...
Given that we were not going anywhere soon, Noa found a ride on another boat and has gone sailing and traveling. Wishing you all the best, Noa.
