Waiting for my new laptop to post more photos

Fujitsu Lifebook P2010

After 12 years, my trusty Fujitsu Notebook laptop has finally died. It was a real treasure and it earned its keep over the years. I not only wrote all my articles on it and sorted and edited photos but also published The Ionian magazine on it for five years.

I first saw it at the local London Drugs store Kelowna, B.C. in 2003 and ordered by phone. Notebook laptops were new then - I think I only had a choice of three at the time. I loved its keyboard, and the fact that it was so portable and tough. It survived beer spilled on its keyboard (had to replace the keyboard but the laptop survived) and three hard drive crashes. Then I left it over two winters and a summer on my boat in the boat yard and it finally gave up its ghost. Got lonely, I guess...
So, this week back in Canada, I begun a search for a new one. I really want a similar one except with more brain power to watch videos and use Skype and with WiFi internet access (with the old one I had to attach a dongle to the USB port) and especially a good keyboard. Just like the notebook.
Hard to find. Most of the keyboards right now are "chicklet" style and not much fun to type on. I certainly didn't want to get a proper keyboard as well - it would defeat the portability aspect.
It was not an easy decision but after a week of searching, my short list included the new Lenovo ThinkPad X250 and the Fujitsu Lifebook E734.
Now for the decision...

And the winner is....., sorry Fujitsu, Lenovo ThinkPad X250. For a similar price it's lighter by a pound, smaller, tough and has more battery power. Let's hope it lasts ten years as well. It will take two weeks to get here and meanwhile, my son is letting me borrow his IPad.

Next, I have to do something about my HTC Wildfire phone. The screen won't let me in.
