Meltemi in Sivota Bay, Lefkas island

We're staying put in Sivota Bay as north-west force 6 and 7 winds are predicted for today (again). Yesterday it blew force 5-6 and in the afternoon the harbour filled up with boats from everywhere else as it is quite a sheltered bay. Most other anchorages in the area are open to the north and not safe.

Meltemi clouds have been moving quickly in the sky above the bay and there is that uncertain feel in the air. Our neighbour on a large catamaran put out a second anchor yesterday and then borrowed a two hundred kilo mooring from a fishing boat for extra security. He's down wind of Eidos, so good additional security to us as well. So far, my Fortress is holding well and we have an extra spring line to shore.

Ithaca becons but we're not in a hurry and this is a very pretty bay. Tomorrow the wind is supposed to ease. I'm also thinking of staying in the Ionian Islands for the winter as there is so much more to see. Perhaps Croatia next spring?

By the way, the website is back up but for some reason I'm getting a lot of spam. I might have to shut it down for awhile again and do some editing. Hope your summer is lovely and warm.
