Flying again - some of my favourite photos

Isla de Culebro, Puerto Rico

Cadaques, Costa Brava, Spain

Leaving Port de Soller, Mallorca, Spain

I'll be flying to Poland next week, so might not have steady access to the Internet, but will try to catch up when I can.

And any writers are more than welcome to come sailing on Eidos. Let's do a writer's retreat next winter in Greece.

  1. You're truly an amazing inspiration. I've dreamed of living on a sailboat for 30 years. I lived the conventional life, job security, obligations, taking care of family, the dangers of boat life from well meaning family and friends; always some excuse kept me from my dream. I imagine awakening at five in the morning, surrounded by white capped frolicking waves, a dark blue sky filled to the brim with millions of sparkling stars, shafts of pink fiery light beckoning the day, come out and play, come out and play. Swab the deck and mend the sails, relax awhile and watch the whales. What a wonderful life, full of adventure and rife with spice. I wish I were going with you.
    Bon Voyage,

  2. I love the images and they only encourage me to (eventually) do what you are doing. I have has a couple of realtively short experiences in the Med and spend my nights trolling the web looking for sailing blogs of Med cruisers.
I have just finished reading 'Nine Summers' which is a novel about an Australian husband and wife who finally got to live their dream of sailing the Med in retirement. Unfortunately, they were spurred to this decision following the husband's cancer diagnosis. A truly inspirational read.
I, too, will one day join the cruising brother/sisterhood fulltime and hopefully live the contented life of a sailing gypsy.
